What maintenance does my generator require?

Depending upon the specific generator, maintenance needs may vary greatly. Generally speaking, however, you should maintain your generator in the same manner you would your car. In other words, the oil should be changed regularly as recommended by the manufacturer, as well as the air and oil filters, sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, and etceteras. And remember, for high-speed generators, each hour of runtime is equivalent to eighty miles on a car.
